Easy Apple Pie Smoothie

Easy as apple pie!

This smoothie is truly that. Our favorite Pittsburgh smoothie spot is The Green Berry located in downtown Irwin. I adore the monthly special creations and the nutty squirrel on the menu (minus the honey add one date) is like my favorite milkshake!

If you are ever in the Pittsburgh area this is a must go. The Green Berry had an apple pie smoothie on the menu and I couldn't get over how much flavor it had! I knew I had to try making it at home.

I hope you'll give this smoothie a try. You can change it up so many different ways the entire household will never get tired of it! We certainly haven't.

Easy Apple Pie Smoothie
[makes one serving]
½ cup water 
^ (you can add less or more depending on your preference of thickness)
1 large apple cored and diced
1 large frozen banana 
½ cup rolled oats 
¼ tsp ginger
¼ tsp Ceylon cinnamon 
¼ tsp nutmeg  

*Add one pitted date if you'd like this smoothie sweeter* 

Blend all ingredients in a high-speed blender and sprinkle nutmeg or cinnamon on top. 
Add-ins: flax meal, ground chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, raw walnuts, or nondairy milk in replacement of water.
