Easy Fat-Free Marinara Sauce

Ingredients:
2 ½ cups strained tomatoes, or canned diced tomatoes, or fresh chopped tomatoes.
1 pitted date
2 tbsp nutritional yeast
2 tbsp Italian seasoning
1 tsp white miso
Directions:
Add all ingredients into a high-speed blender – blend until smooth.
Notes:
*Add more dates or miso to your taste preference
*Experiment with spices
*Add in garlic cloves
*Add red pepper flakes for a kick
Store in an air-tight container for around five days refrigerator.
Sauce freezes well!

I'm worried about the miso: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/15929164/ Can you suggest a substitute? Dulse? Sumac? I like to add chopped carrot to my spaghetti sauce to make it a bit sweeter.
