Whole Food Plant Based TWIX Blizzard

Remember those TWIX Blizzard you'd get at Dairy Queen?


Well, I've created a whole food plant based version that is delicious, pretty simple to make, and actually healthy... can it be? YES!

Whole Food Plant-Based TWIX Blizzard

Ingredients:

TWIX Cookie Bar

Crust Layer

o ¾ oat flour

o ½ cup raw walnuts

o 5 pitted dates

o 2 tbsp nondairy milk (unflavored & unsweetened)

Middle Layer

o ¼ cup nondairy milk (unflavored & unsweetened)

o 5 pitted dates

o 2 tbsp nut butter (we used raw almond)

Chocolate Top Layer

o ½ cup unsweetened pure dark chocolate

Vanilla Nicecream (made in a blender)

o 3 frozen bananas

o ¼ cup nondairy milk (unflavored & unsweetened)

o 1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions:

o Blend the TWIX crust layer in a food processor, once combined press crust into a loaf pan evenly

o In a high-speed blender add all the ingredients for the middle layer, blend until smooth

o Add the middle layer mixture on top of the crust layer. -- Freeze until mostly solid

o Melt the ½ cup of unsweetened pure dark chocolate and spread over middle layer

o Freeze until TWIX Cookie bar is solid

o Blend all of the vanilla nicecream ingredients together in a high-speed blender.

o Store nicecream in the freezer until serving

o Assemble the TWIX Blizzard mixing in nicecream and TWIX cookie by layers

Optional:

*Add cacao or cocoa to the middle layer if wanting to skip the dark chocolate top layer of TWIX bar.

We love serving our TWIX Blizzards in fancy dishes with a little bit of extra date paste or chocolate swirled inside the dish!
