Our yellow split pea spreadable butter recipe is so creamy, packed full of flavor, and super healthy!


You will love using the spread for toast, baked potatoes, and even corn on the cob!


We always change but the herbs used for a different spin on this beloved recipe especially around the holidays. Try it out with rosemary for Thanksgiving and the entire family will rejoice in how delicious and creamy our recipe is.

Yellow Split Pea Spreadable Butter
By: The Jaroudi Family 

Ingredients:
 
1 cup cooked yellow split peas 
1/4 cup nondairy milk (unflavored/unsweetened) 
1 tsp lemon juice 
1 tsp white miso
1/8 tsp turmeric powder
Dash of black pepper
1 tablespoon fresh chopped parsley 
1 tablespoon fresh chopped chives 

Directions:

In a high-speed blender add all the ingredients except parsley and chives. 

Blend until smooth. 

Stir in chopped parsley and chives.
Refrigerate for five days in an airtight container. 

Spread over toast, potatoes, muffins, quick bread – anything you’d typically spread butter on.

When you say "Refrigerate for five days in an airtight container", do you mean that it will last for 5 days when refrigerated, or does it need to sit for 5 days for fermentation or something else?
